Inception Tour: Guest Post and Giveaway

Inception by Teal Haviland

ABOUT INCEPTION:

The world is in danger. Mankind is sinking deeper into darkness it cannot understand

Demons are easily capturing souls as they lead men and women down dangerous paths from which there is no return, while Javan, one of the Fallen, seeks an ancient book and the power it promises. If he succeeds, humans — and the world as they know it — will be destroyed.

There is someone who is capable of stopping Javan...

If she discovers him in time.

Gabrielle is one of the most powerful angels ever created, her job one of the most important. She has come to Earth to learn more about humans and what influences them, and to fight evil she sees growing at an alarming rate. She soon finds herself carelessly distracted with one human in particular, however. Lucas Watkins holds a promise of peace and love for Gabrielle that she never believed she could have again.

Caught between her new mortal ties and ancient immortal responsibilities, Gabrielle must race against what seems to be an ever-quickening clock to learn what she needs to know, uncover Javan’s plan, and find a way to stop him and all who live in Shadows.

Join Gabrielle and her allies in a story of love — past and present — fantastical beings, hidden realms, magic, fate, loss, and the fight of good versus evil in, The Reaping Chronicles.

My Top Ten Favorite Books . . . and Why

Oy vey, Dazzled by Books . . . you picked such a difficult list for me to compile. I will do my best to narrow down me lengthy library of faves, though.

10 ~ Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I never could put a finger on why I enjoyed this book so much, but I did. Maybe it was just the right book at the right time.

9 ~ The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I love the world she created more than anything.

8 ~ The books of The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Yep . . . J. R. Ward, you kill me with the hotness of your Brothers and the world you have created for them. Love it. All of it.

7 ~ The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. This story is touching and sad and funny and everything you’d want from a good, solid YA read.

6 ~ Stardust by Neil Gaiman. I adored this story and the way Gaiman told it. I loved his cadence, his descriptions, and his characters. I loved the idea of a star being someone who could be communicated with . . . who could be fallen in love with and could fall in love.

5 ~ The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Shannon Hale is a fantastic word painter. I love the way she describes scenes, so I will read anything she writes for this reason.

4 ~ Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I love her characters, her story, her world, and especially her writing style.

3 ~ Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I was intrigued by this story because of the gender POV switch of an Arthurian tale. I have always loved the story of King Arthur and Camelot. When I heard the Bradley had written about it, only told from the perspective of the women of the story, I had to read it. I wasn’t disappointed, and have recommended it to people more times than I can count.

2 ~ The Harry Potter books. Yeah . . . love Rowling’s imagination. I love that she was willing to share what it came up with, even more.

1 ~ My favorite book of all times is . . . drum roll please . . . The Lord of the Rings. Why? Well, because it has it all: love, adventure, battles, the struggle between good and evil, and fantastical beings, all wrapped up into an epic read written by an even more epic author.

Okay. So there you have it. I made my list. It was painful to choose, but I’m glad I did. It was fun to realize which ones would make the final cut and interesting as to my reasons why. I hope you enjoyed finding out my top ten favorite books as much as I did.
