My Favorite Austin Quote from "A Tale of Two Centuries" by Rachel Harris

Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

“Baby, I just found you…you really think I’m gonna let her take you away from me?”

This is definitely my favorite Austin quote. What woman wouldn’t want a man to say this to her? This one quote makes Austin a swoon worthy book boyfriend. I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind having a guy in my life that was like this. Willing to fight for what he wants and not let go.

Looking back on a relationship I was in, the guy didn’t want to fight to be with me. If he had me he was good, but he didn’t want to have to work to date me. Just once it would have been nice if he felt the way Austin feels about Alessandra towards me. I understand that Austin and Alessandra are book characters, but I don’t believe their romance is just a made of story. People fall in and out of love all the time, but there is something about finding real love, I know there is. I’ve fallen in love before but it wasn’t the kind of love that I want for the rest of my life. I do believe that there are different stages of love and I want to experience love where the man doesn’t want to let you go. He doesn’t want to see you walk out of his life, so he is willing to fight to keep you. This is how I feel Alessandra’s and Austin’s love is. When you find that person, are you going to let someone else take them away?

If I think someone is worth the fight, then I am going to fight for them. Is it too much to ask for the same thing? I don’t want to date someone that isn’t going to value me and want to fight for me. I’ve been there and done that, who would want to go through it again? Part of having a relationship is also fighting for it because there are going to be issues and there are going to be people that want to tear it apart and so people have to decide what they are going to do. Are they going to let people tear them apart or are they going to fight for the one that they love?

Austin didn’t want Reyna to take Alessandra away, so he was willing to fight for her. His goal was to keep Alessandra with him because he was in love with her and he knew that Alessandra didn’t want to leave. This might not be the same issues or drama that modern people deal with however in this story, it was a big deal. This is why the quote listed above is my favorite one of Austin’s. I actually believe it was the one that was chosen to be on his trading card also. All I have to say is if you find someone that you think is swoon worthy, then try holding on to them and when things get rough, fight for them.
