Book Review and Giveaway: Exile by Kevin Emerson

"Exile" by Kevin Emerson is pretty amazing. The story is told by Summer's point of view. Summer is a high school band manager. She was previously hurt by a previous boyfriend and band. Summer isn't sure at first if she wants to get into the band business again after her previous band and boyfriend ditched her for Candy Shell records. Then Summer hears Caleb play and decides that if she can convince him, she may give this band management another try.

Summer is tying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. She has started her senior year of college and her parents are pressuring her to pick a college. Summer just wants to find where she fits. She wants a successful band that she gets to be a part of not one she helps get a record deal and just gets dumped. Summer has an eye for helping a band. She may not have musical talent but she makes a great manager because she knows what she is doing and how to get a band noticed.

Caleb finds out that he is related to someone famous and he doesn't totally know how to handle it. Caleb quit his band when he found out the news about his life and decided that it was better that he just figure out thing son his own. Then Caleb meets Summer and finds out that this girl is worth something. Caleb and Summer start dating and of course creating a band together. Caleb is trying to deal with the news of his father and if he wants to follow in his father's footsteps. The last thing that Caleb wants to do is become his father.

"Exile" was so much fun. It was pretty fun getting to know the character of "Exile" and finding out all the different parts and pieces of a band. Band life can be filled with a lot of drama and complications. I love how the songs in Exile are original and play a big part in the novel. I think this book is so perfect is so many ways. I think "Exile" would be one of those books that gets people who don't like reading interested in reading. "Exile" is fun and it is more of a contemporary. It is a book that could take place in the real world, as of today and right now. "Exile" is one of the best contemporary books that I have read and I can't wait for its sequel to come out.   to know what happens next very badly. Definitely check out this book because it is absolutely amazing because even the writing is so good. Kevin Emerson is such a good writer. He has a way of drawing you into the story and getting hooked. I don't think you will be disappointed investing time into this novel.
