Book Review: Rapture by Lauren Kate

"Rapture" by Lauren Kate was surprising! That is really the only word I can use to describe it. So much happened in "Rapture." I think Kate did a great job with answering questions that readers had for this series. "Rapture" pretty much takes off where "Passion" ended. Luce learned a lot about herself in "Passion" when she was traveling to the different times and seeing how Daniel and she fell in love each time but Luce still doesn't know how everything started.

Luce really has to grow up in this book and realize who she truly is and what role she plays in this life and everyone else's life. Luce discovering this truth changes everything. In some ways I feel really bad for Luce because in some ways she missed out on so much because of this curse and because of the curse she is going to miss out on even more. This seemed to be a very sad way to end the "Fallen" series but a perfect ending at the same time.

I was a little disappointed that Cam wasn't in this novel more. He seemed like Kate didn't want her readers to fall in love with Cam even more. I wish as a reader than there was more of a conclusion for Cam when the story ended. This was definitely a surprising way to end the series and in a way many people get their happy endings.

Bill/Lucifer storyline is even more interesting in this book because the reader finds out the true nature of Lucifer and how everything started or why I guess I should say. I have to say that I am not totally sure I liked this aspect of it. I get the point for the story but I am not totally sure I like how the book went for Luce and Lucifer.

The last thing is my major compalint about this story. I do not like the fact at all that they address God as a woman. I know this is a story but I think it is disrespectful to address God as a woman. If you are going to use a lot of religion's to base your book off of, then God should be addressed as a He instead of a she. God is addressed as a male presentation in the religions that Kate used in this story and I think that is how He should have been represented in the story.

I do think "Rapture" is a nice interesting wrap up to the series and I think a lot of readers will be happy with this ending because I feel like most of the questions were answered. "Fallen" is still one of my favorite angel series so definitely check it out.
