Dazzled by Books

"Her Backup Boyfriend" by Ashlee Mallory was a very fun and very cute read. Kate is a lawyer and she just recently broken up with by her lawyer boyfriend Michael. They had been dating for three years prior to breaking up. The main reason Michael broke up with Kate is because his parents didn't approve and they thought Kate was more 'white trash' than anything else. Kate becomes one of the top lawyers and has a new project on her hands a house that she bought that needs a desperate remodel.

Dominic is helping out his aunt Mrs. Sorensen, who happens to be Kate's neighbor. Mrs. Sorensen has been wanting to set up Dominic and Kate for awhile. Dominic ends up helping Kate remodel her house until the figure out another deal they can make. Dominic's sister needs a lawyer for free to help with a divorce and Kate needs a date for several events so that she can make partner at the law firm she works at. On top of everything Michael proposed to his new girlfriend.

What Kate and Dominic didn't plan is to fall in love with each other and they especially didn't plan on being miserable once they broke off their fake relationship. Will these two end up together in the end or will it be just another failed relationship for the two of them?

I really liked "Her Backup Boyfriend." I thought it was a very  fun and cute read. The characters were fun to get to know. I love the Sorensen family. They were the sweetest family. I love how they were always there for each other. I have to say that my favorite part of the story are the fake relationships. Fake relationships are definitely fun to read about because they are people who very little to nothing to do with each other and then in the end they fall in love. Who doesn't love a romantic story like that? I love bliss books because they are so fun and light to read.

Mallory is a great writer. I think she did a great job with Kate and Dominic's story. It is a very cute story and very well written. I look forward to seeing what else Mallory comes up with. I hope she continues to write more bliss novels. "Her Backup Boyfriend" is definitely a cute read if you are looking for something fun and light to read.
