Dazzled by Books

"The Forest Adventures" by Kate M. John was definitely an interesting beginning to a new trilogy. It took a little while for me to get into the story, but once I did I thought it was really good. Mina is doubting her relationship with her long term boyfriend because she is attracted to another guy. Mina and her boyfriend end up conveniently breaking up. This leaves Mina getting to know this new guy Blake and find out what he is all about.

I think the hardest part about this story is I don't feel like I got to know the main character Mina at all. She is narrating the story but I don't feel like I got to know her as the reader. The only real thing that I know about Mina is that she really likes Blakek. The concept and the plot were pretty interesting. This story combines the real world with a fairy tale world.

I think their is definitely some growing to be down with this series but I think it is a great start to a new series. I am looking forward to more by Kate John.
