Book Review: Hook's Revenge by Heidi Schultz

"Hook's Revenge" is such a cute story. This is one that shall not disappoint! This story is about Captain Hook's daughter Jocelyn. She is such a spunky character. I loved her to pieces. Jocelyn is sent to a school for girls to be taught how to be a proper lady but the only thing that Jocelyn wants to be is a proper pirate. Schulz does a great job in bringing Jocelyn to life for her readers.

I have read a lot of Peter Pan retellings and sequels and I have to say that "Hook's Revenge" is one of the best. I was hooked right away. I don't read a whole lot of middle grade books but this is definitely a series that I will go back too. I think Jocelyn is a character that people will love no matter what their age is. I love that a lot of the original Peter Pan characters show up in this novel. I think it brings a very fun element to the story. I love that Schulz put her own spin on the Peter Pan and Captain Hook legend.

One thing I really like about this book is it is told by a storyteller. I think this creates a very unique way to read. In a way this adds a whole different character to the story and I think he is just as entertaining as Jocelyn herself. I am looking forward to getting to know the narrator and Jocelyn more along with all of the other characters. If you like classic fairy tale retellings, this is definitely a book to get. It is so much fun.

If you ever have the chance to meet Heidi Schultz, take it! She is such a sweetheart. You is an author that every person should meet.
