What I liked:
- I feel like the reader really got to know Eadlyn this time around. In "The Heir," I didn't feel like I really got to know Eadlyn as a person. She was more of a spoiled princess. I think she really comes out of her shell in "The Crown" and I really enjoyed her character.
- Eadlyn puts others above herself. Eadlyn falls in love but she is willing to put that love aside in order to do what is right for her kingdom. I think this was an important lesson for her to learn.
- The boys. I really liked the fact that I got to know each of the boys better too. The boys seemed to be more open to Eadlyn which in turn caused the relationships to progress or turn into friendships.
- The writing. Cass' writing is really good in "The Crown." I think she got to show another version of her writing because she is writing a story that is about following your heart and finding true love but she is doing it from a different characters perspective and thoughts. I thought she did a great job.
What I disliked:
- That it ended. I really don't have a lot of complaints for this series. I think Cass wrapped the story up quite nicely. I think the bonus ending was perfect. It makes me very happy to see that Eadlyn ends up being a very happy queen. I think that is the most important part.
- It is really hard to say goodbye to characters that you love. I really feel invested in Cass' characters.
Wrap Up:
- I have been on quite the journey with "The Selection" series. I think that Cass did a fantastic job with this series. "The Crown" was the perfect ending to everything. I am happy that Cass decided to write these last two books. This is a series that is worth reading.
- The covers are so gorgeous. I love them all.
- I can't wait to see what Cass has up her sleeves. I think Cass is a fabulous writer and I am looking forward to her next work. Her stories are great. She does a wonderful job with character development.
