The Boy Who Killed Grant Parker Blog Tour

"The Boy Who Killed Grant Parker" by Kat Spears had a great idea. I didn't think it was executed very well. This was a story that I wasn't able to get into. Luke Grayson ends up in Ashland, Tennessee for his senior year. To Luke, this is the worst thing that could ever happen to him. Luke's mother doesn't want to deal with the trouble the Luke has. The reputation that Luke has seems to follow him to Ashland. Luke Grayson became the target of Grant Parker, the bully. Grant Parker makes Luke's life miserable and he keeps him isolated from all the other teenagers.

This book had a great concept but I don't think it was executed very well. The characters weren't that great. It was hard to connect with any of them. I wasn't that interested in the story. I felt my feet dragging to try to finish. I have a hard time with the fact that Luke's mom shipped him away. She couldn't just try to be a parent? Kids have issues and I feel like a parent shouldn't just dump the kid. I found this book to be another one for my not for me shelf. Maybe next time.
