Blogging and Change

Change:

I am changing. I have changed. Change is always going to happen. One just needs to accept change and move forward.

I have so many friends who are giving up on blogging and when I think about giving up it up, I just can't. The frustrations are understandable. See Below:

Frustrations:

  1. Time

  2. Does anyone read reviews anymore?

  3. Being the age of video, everyone is on YouTube. I don't like being on camera.

  4. Same Old. Same Old.

  5. All Work. No Play.

What am I going to do about it?

I am not going to let myself be discouraged. Growing my blog is something that I am focusing on right now. I want to drive people back to my website.

GET CREATIVE!

I want to get creative. I want Dazzled by Books to be fun again. Book reviews are the goal but what else can we accomplish? I want to find new fun ways to engage people. Keeping people interested is the goal. Plus I want to feature the love of reading that I have and how much fun one can have with a good book.

Features:

  1. Bloggers and Readers

  2. Events

  3. Experiences

  4. Fun

I want to feature bloggers and readers. Readers and bloggers are important too. I want to showcase them. Let's bring excitement back to blogging.

I want to share events with you. I don't know, I can write about it or maybe even do little videos. The goal is to have fun with all of it.

Experiences. I have had many experience with the book world and I would like to start sharing those experiences.

Ultimately, I want to have more fun.

My blogging career is not dead yet. Change. I want change and I want it now. Anyone else with me?

  1. Interesting post, Ali. I'm glad you're not giving up. I don't look at YouTube so at least there's me reading you. Maybe some kinds of gimmicks would be in order. Perhaps your readers could come back and let you know how they liked the books you reviewed? Or vote for which ones belong on which types of "playlists"? Or you might do a reading challenge the way Goodreads does and let people compete to see who reads the most titles? You see where I'm going with this.

  2. Hi Paula, Thank you so much for your comment. Readers coming back to say anything is a great help. It is people like me that have seen less comments and interaction that it gets hard. Being a Social Media Marketer during my day job, I get to see all the cool things that are happening with video. I am so not a video person. I like taking videos just not being in them. I am incredibly awkward. I love your ideas. I think anything helps. Again thank you so much for your comment, I greatly appreciate it.
