"Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda" by Becky Albertalli was sweet. Being in someone's head is very interesting. Simon is gay but he is not out of the closet yet. He has a secret pen pal who is also gay. Now these two don't know who the other is. They aren't at the point of revealing themselves. They seem to enjoy talking about life and their school.
I liked the letters portion of the book. It was fun reading through emails. I was more interested in reading the emails of what the characters were going through instead of the story itself. I just found it more intriguing.
I think Simon was ready to come out to the world but wasn't sure how to do it. I think his emails was an attempt to start the process. I think my biggest disappointment was the fact hat the family and friends didn't know. It was a surprise to his parents, but I felt like Simon showed so many signs. "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda" was okay. Not really the book for me.
