Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

A couple things. I was under the impression that "Stealing Snow" by Danielle Paige is a "Snow White" retelling. "Stealing Snow" is actually a retelling of "The Snow Queen." I found this story to be quite dull. I feel like there was a few confusing elements between what story is being retold. There is even a reference to Snow calling her pills her dwarves.

Snow's character is what I want to call into question. She is extremely one-dimensional. Snow is in an asylum. She bites people and acts crazy but really she isn't. It is portrayed that Snow has a mental illness but besides the fact that she is given pills there is nothing to support this. Having a  mentally ill person as a hero/heroine is fantastic but then there should be a character with a real mental illness. I think this is the biggest problem in this book. Mental Illness. It isn't represented correctly.

There is a reference that Snow walked through a mirror and cut herself as a child. Unless this is some psychotic Alice in Wonderland thing, you can't walk through a mirror. You can run into it but you can't walk through it. This doesn't make any sense at all.

What happened to world building? Paige didn't do any world building at all. It is very up in the air on what this world looks like. i am not even sure what time period this story is in. The world building could use some help.

Did we have a love triangle, square, or a different shape? How many boys is Snow going to kiss? Is there any loyalty with this girl? Why? Why do we need an  kind of love shape? It would be nice if Snow could be loyal to Bale. She did come to try to rescue him right?

I was hugely disappointed in "Stealing Snow" by Danielle Paige. this is my opinion and encourage everyone to form their own.
