Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan is really cute. This story is perfect for the holidays. Dash is such a bookish nerd and I love it.

My favorite Dash quote:
"I was horribly bookish, to the point of coming right out and saying it, which I knew was not socially acceptable."

Dash makes me laugh. I love his snarly attitude. It went perfectly with Lily's cheerful one. Like you got that sweet and salty combo mix. Dash has so many sarcastic remarks and each one is perfect.

Now Lily is full of sunshine and cheer. Part of me feels like she is trying to compensate for everything else that is going on in her life. I really loved that when Lily lost her book, Or left it behind, she walked about with one book and a sneaker. It was so random and it cracked me up.

My favorite Lily quote is:
"Children frighten me. I mean, I appreciate them on a cute aesthetic level, but they're very demanding and unreasonable creatures and often smell funny."

All in all, I think this is a really cute Christmas time of year story. I am glad that it was our book club pick for December because I enjoyed it a lot.
