What Light by Jay Asher is a perfect holiday read. I found that I very much enjoyed Sierra and Caleb. I loved that this story takes place in my two favorite states, California and Oregon.
Sierra's family owns a tree farm in Oregon but every winter they travel to California to sell their Christmas trees. This may be the last eyar that Sierra and her family come to California to sell their trees.
When Sierra meets Caleb everything becomes complicated. She can't decide if she wants to open up to him. Sierra has never taken a chance like that with anyone. Caleb has a very complicated life. He made a mistake when he was very young and he continues to pay for it.
Caleb is constantly coming to the tree lot to purchase trees for others. I really love how this is the first thing that Sierra learns about him. This is a book that focuses on the little things and I really like that.
The characters are great. I really enjoyed getting to know Caleb and Sierra. I adore these two. The friendships with the supporting characters is amazing. The minor characters has a huge presence and a good amount of page time. I felt like I really got to know each character well.
What Light is a very fast pace story. I am pretty sure I breezed through it in a day. This is an adorable contemporary that every should read. If you read during Christmas time than that is a bonus.
