Burning by Danielle Rollins

Burning by Danielle Rollins is a ya-thriller but I didn't find it as creepy as it sounded. A 10 year old girl with odd abilities shows up at a juvenile detention center and weird things begin to happen. This book didn't wrap up as well as I would have liked but I still found myself enjoying it.

This story is really enjoyable. Rollins' writing is strong and she created some great characters. Angela is a great main character. Her story is what kept me going with this story. I wanted to see what would happen to her. Rollins did a great job with the setting. I was truly able to picture the sad depressed halls of Brunesfield Juvenile Detention Center.

The biggest disappoint for me is that the reader gets no explanations. The ending is so open that I really don't like it. There are so many questions that need to be answered. I feel like the characters need better resolution than what they got.

Overall, I did like Burning. I hope we get answers in Breaking. I really hope we see more of the characters in Burning also.
