Things I'm Seeing Without You Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

REVIEW:

Things I've Seeing Without You by Peter Bognanni is deep and humorous. I have to say that it is a bit hard for me to say that a story about a girl dealing with her boyfriend's suicide. What makes the story humorous is the fact that her father owns an alternative funeral business. As Tess is trying to deal and recover from the loss of her boyfriend, her dad is off doing funerals for dogs and horses and other cases.

Tess and her boyfriend had an online based relationship. As she is dealing with her loss, she goes online and writes to him even though she knows that he will never respond back to her. During this process, she is able to learn more about Jonah and who he was. I enjoyed the parts were Tess starts helping her father with his unique funeral business. I think this opportunity helps her heal and deal with her grief.

I was a bit worried about this book and how it was going to make me feel for personal reasons. I have a few people in my life that deal with suicide and so any time I come across it in books, I tend to shy away because it makes me cry so much. I found that the humor in this book helped me survive reading this story. I found myself enjoying it even though it deals with some really tough subjects. If you are like me and suicide can be a tough subject, but you want to find a way to slowly overcome that trigger, then I think this is a good book to start with.
