Review:
American Royals III: Rivals by Katharine McGee is another amazing installment into the American Royals saga. I enjoyed Rivals so much better than Majesty. I am going to be so sad when this saga ends because I love it so much. The Gossip Girl feels continue. (Gossip Girl the tv show not the books.) Rivals really showcases the drama between Samantha and Beatrice.
Beatrice learns.a lot in this book. As Queen, she is feeling a bit lost. Beatrice tries to make friends with royals from other countries but ends up feeling betrayed. Her relationship with Teddy is still a work in progress. I really love how Beatrice has come into her own in this story. McGee has given this series such a reality tv vibe that it is filled with so much drama that you can’t stop turning to the next page. This book is a quick read filled with so much fun.
I really enjoyed Samantha in this one. She is growing up and coming in to her own. Samantha is learning to find her place while her sister is the new queen. It’s interesting to see how Sam has developed and coping with being the heir now.
Rivals ends on a cliffhanger. Be prepared for that. Rivals is officially my favorite book in the saga so far. I enjoyed that we got to see Beatrice host the League of Kings and getting to meet the different monarchs. I think it was such a fun addition to the story. Oh goodness the power dynamics. I am addicted to this kind of drama.
