A queen's life hangs in the balance, and her siblings' decisions-about what to do, and most of all, who to love-could change the course of history. Romance.
Duty. Power...only one can triumph in this stunning conclusion to the New York Times bestselling American Royals series. America's royal family is in shambles.
Queen Beatrice is in a coma and Princess Samantha has gone missing-from the look of things, she ran away with her boyfriend, Lord Marshall Davis. Which means that Prince Jefferson is currently on the throne. For some in America, it's exactly what they wanted: a King ruling the country. And for Daphne Deighton, who has tricked Jefferson into dating her again, it's the ultimate dream come true. Surely this is all just temporary. Won't Beatrice wake up and reclaim her rightful place?
Samantha can't really be gone...can she? And Prince Jefferson will never truly be over his childhood crush, Nina Gonzalez. Right? For the Washington family, the stakes are higher than ever. Love might save the throne....if secrets don't destroy everything first.
Review:
American Royals IV: Reign by Katharine McGee was amazing. This was such a great way to wrap up this series. There was no shortage of the drama that we have come to know with the American Royals.
I think Beatrice had the best plot line in the whole series. I really loved her character and how she grew into her own. Her character had so much development from beginning to end. I loved that she was able to build up her confidence in her ability to rule. She comes across so cold and rule following through out the series that I think the reader really gets to know Bea and we get to fall in love with her. Being a woman in power, she has to work harder than any man to get people to respect her and take her seriously.
I am really glad that Samantha was able to find herself. I think Samantha really needed to learn how to accept herself. She was the princess of the people but in the end she was also solely herself. I think Sam was the character that was supposed to be the most loved. That she was. She was the character that was written to be relatable and understood by all people.
I had a love hate relationship with Nina through out the series. I really wanted her to be happy but I was also annoyed with her decisions. I think she had too high of expectations sometimes. She wants to have her life be one way but then she wants to be with the price as well. She really could not have both.
The last female character to talk about is Daphne. I started out hating her but in the end I had some sympathy towards her. I never expected her storyline to turn out the way that it did.
I think McGee did a great job wrapping up this saga. I am really sad that it is ending but I think she did a fabulous job. I look forward to seeing what she does next. If you enjoyed Gossip Girl (the tv show) or you enjoy the drama in scripted reality tv, then definitely check out the American Royals saga because it gives all those vibes.
