Review:

Out of Her League is a quick, easy read centered around two characters who are impossible not to root for. Our heroine, Dr. Isa Mercado, is a talented surgeon preparing to attend the biggest wedding of the year, only to discover her ex will be there with his new fiancée. Desperate to avoid the humiliation of facing him alone, Isa recruits former football legend Austin Cade to be her fake date.

Their dynamic is the heart of the book. Isa and Austin’s interactions are lively, warm, and full of spark. I loved how game Austin was for the entire scheme with no hesitation, no ego, just genuine enthusiasm to help Isa out. Because of the fake‑dating setup, the two are forced to get to know each other quickly, and their friendship blossoms into feelings at a believable (but delightfully fast) pace. Their natural chemistry makes every scene between them shine.

One of my favorite parts of the story was Isa’s personal journey. Watching her realize she doesn’t have to shrink herself or settle, that she can have the career, the love, and the life she wants with the right partner, gave the book real emotional weight beneath the fun.

If you enjoy fake dating romances, sports-adjacent love stories, or quick reads with charming leads, this one is worth picking up.
