It is a Snow Day

Hi my blogging friends. I thought I would write about my experience with the latest snow storm in the Pacific Northwest. Last night I was headed down from Beaverton, OR to go home and ended up being in traffic for 8 hours. It was so terrifying. The roads were covered in so much snow and ice. I love my state but goodness we are not prepared for weather like this. I was terrified trying to get home last night. There were a few times that my car lost traction and my traction light would come on. It was definitely an interesting experience. I just have to be thankful that I came home okay.

This was taken last night when I was walking home because the snow was so deep, I had a hard time parking my car. Plus I didn't have any power at home. It was an interesting night. I spun my car out a few times in my apartment complex. I ended up giving up trying to park in my designated spot and I parked in the visitor parking because it was a whole lot easier to get into the parking spot.

I am not looking forward to the next few days and all of the snow freezing over. It has been snowing all dimg_2744ay and I am really nervous about everything freezing. I am really nervous with all of it. Snow is one of my worst nightmares. Especially since we don't see snow very often in Oregon. It is like the entire world falls a part. People drive crazy and then accidents happen.

The snow as even more nerve-wracking for me when not only was I worried about me getting home but I also had to worry about Taylor* getting home. He was in a worse situation than I was because he had to battle a bunch of hills to get to the freeway and people kept getting stuck at the bottom of the hills. I was stressing about him a lot but I really wanted to make sure that he was going to get home safely. I know that when I start stressing out that it will stress Taylor out. I was trying super hard to keep myself calm and everything.

Thankfully I had a lot of people praying for me and Taylor. On top of that I had a lot img_2729people who took time out of their night to talk to me on the phone while I was extremely nervous. I was  thankful because when people talk to me on the phone helped keep my nervous down.

Tomorrow is going to be a work at home day because nothing is going to get better. I am ready for these roads to melt and it to be safe to drive again. I truly think that things will get worse before they get better. I fell three times outside in the snow trying to walk in it last night. I also broke a nail. That was so much fun. I have a huge break in my shellac.

Hopefully it doesn't get worse because I don't get them done again until Wednesday. With everything going on, I am really looking forward to Christmas. I can't wait to give people their gifts. I love the holidays and I am img_2741looking forward to seeing the look on people's faces. I want to leave everyone with this last snow picture. These are a few of the pictures that I took. There is so much snow everywhere.

Thank you for listening to my rambling and for people in the Northwest, please stay safe out there. For others with lots of snow, please keep safe where you are. I really don't like snow and I just want everyone to be safe. Sending lots of love and warm wishes to everyone. #SnowisGross
