Dazzled by Books

Futhermore by Tahereh Mafi is an addicting and fast read. Mafi does a fabulous job. Ferenwood is such a colorful place. There rules are so odd. I love that not only to I get to learn about one town but then we get to learn about the world of Furthermore. Mafi immerses the reader into her story so seamlessly.

I really like Alice's character. She is determined, funky, and fun. Alice has so much energy. This girl wants to be the best that she can. She wants to be loved and appreciated even though she has a lack of color.

I was drawn into the story right away. It was easy to become invest in Alice's and Oliver's adventure. Every step of the way I was worried for their safety. This magical world is so dangerous. Having a narrator telling you the story was a bit fun. Oh did I mention that this is written in second person? I really enjoyed the second person point of view.

My problem with the story is the ending. The ending was extremely rushed. I like happy endings, but did it need to be so fast. It was like the entire adventure was wrapped up in one quick chapter. The pace of the ending didn't go with the rest of the story at all.
